When was the last time you had a conversation with a stranger? The offer is simple: we buy you lunch in exchange for a short conversation. Starting with a menu of questions, we talk about what's happening in the world, in our lives and stuff that's playing on our minds. There's always a 'Today's Special' from that day's news. The conversations are one-to-one, lasting half an hour (ish). No Such Thing began in 2012 in a curry café in Manchester City Centre. Since then, Quarantine have had around 500 conversations over 500 lunches with 500 strangers. Quarantine is an award-winning ensemble of artists and producers making cross-disciplinary work that explores what it means to live right now. Founded in Manchester in 1998, they create and tour projects around the world that are both intimate and immediate in their relationships with people, and global in their reference and scope. Tickets: Free (tickets available W/C 12 Jan) Running time: 30 minutes (approx.) This event takes place at various times and locations, to be announced soon.
