Are there just too many questions you have about playwriting that Google simply can’t answer? This session is about how to begin the idea of a play and see that through to the final draft stage and production. It will be a sharing of ideas, thoughts and personal tips and we will cover: character development writing exercises, how to hear characters voices when writing dialogue including dialogue writing exercises. Exploration of the importance of structure, the drafting process and the links between writing alone and getting your play heard, readings, writing communities and agents. There will also be an opportunity for a Q&A at the end of the session. Dates: Monday 19 May 2025 Time: 7pm – 9:30pm Running time of workshop: 2.5 hours – delivered in-person. Maximum class sizes are 16. A portion of spaces have been reserved for Share the Drama places. This session will be taking place at the 503Studio which is currently an open plan space that is still in development but you will have access to wifi, tables and chairs. The space is fully wheelchair accessible.
