Pitching is one of the hardest parts of the job as a writer, that's just a fact. The cold sweat when someone asks "so tell us the idea!" is inevitable for all of us and most of the time our brilliantly constructed, carefully thought through ideas end up coming out in a tangled mess of complete mind blank and slightly manic "no I have thought it through really!" as you just try and get through it. This workshop will take some of that dread away by exploring the ways in which we can prepare for pitching our ideas. We will look at ten page treatments, one page pitch documents and the dreaded verbal pitch and workshop ways to ensure we all have a tool kit to fall back on as we get ready to take out our ideas in to the world. Alongside this, some exercises on adapting for television and working out how do you hold on to your voice when adapting classical material as well as the process of adapting your own material for television.
