Reaching the end of a story you're writing is always a good feeling, whether it's a play, script, novel, poem, or just for fun. But what happens if you begin to go off track, or the outcome isn't what you expected? Even worse, what happens when you hit the dreaded 'block'? 'The Story as Failure' treats these instances as part of an ongoing process that's focussed on the lifelong art of being a writer, rather than any individual project or goal. We will treat 'writers block' as simply an unexplored part of the process, and discuss ways these can be turned into creative opportunities for growth, or at the very least, how to be kind to ourselves. Writers will leave this workshop with a greater understanding of how to deal with perceived failure, and tips on how they may live to write another day.
