The Luxurious Time – a queer love story is a true story that recounts the author's life with his partner, as the man he loves succumbs to Alzheimer's disease, posing the question: when dementia strikes can love survive?
The play follows the insidious progression of the disease and its consequences, as well as the difficult decisions that must be made about his partner's future. It gives a unique perspective about the impact of dementia on a long-term gay relationship with the distinctive and very moving inclusion of verbatim dialogue from both parties. At times upsetting, sometimes funny, it's a very human story that resonates with everyone on many levels, and a queer call to action in the fight against dementia.
