Two nights of brand-new short plays by Latin American writers, performed for the very first time. On Friday 13 and Saturday 14 November, Latinx Scratch comes to Omnibus Theatre with a vibrant mix of new work, from the funny and intimate to the unexpected and experimental.
A scratch night is theatre at its freshest: new plays shared early, before they are polished, so you see stories as they take shape. You might be watching the next big Latin American play in its first outing.
A community without a box. Stories that refuse to fit in one.
Across Latin America and its diaspora are countless cultures, identities and histories. There has never been one Latin American experience, and there is no single Latin American story.
Yet after generations of building lives in the UK, Latin Americans still have no tick box of their own on the UK Census. A diverse, growing community too often goes unseen in official statistics.
Latinx Scratch puts our stories centre stage.
Since 2019, Untold Collectiv has created space for Latin American writers, directors and performers to develop new work, take risks and share it with audiences. Every story starts with a chispa, a spark, and this is where it catches fire.
