Setting up a new account via social media
In order to set-up a new accoun via social media, follow these steps:
A prerequisite is that you have a social media account at the provider you will select. If you do not have a social media account, then you will need to start one with your selected provider, or you will not be able to log-in by this method.
- In the latter case you will need to create a Vend St account, read the information about setting-up a new account.
Click the “Log-in” link in the page header, or in the clickable menu.
Scroll down to the “Other log-in options” heading.
If you want to log-in via OpenID, click the OpenID button.
On the OpenID log-in page enter your OpenID server URL (and click the “Register” button), or click one of the OpenID server links (under the heading “Or click one of the selected OpenID servers below”).
You will be redirected to your selected OpenID server.
Read the log-in information given to you by the OpenID service provider.
If you accept the terms given, use your OpenID username and password to log-in.
Upon a successful log-in you will be redirected back to Vend St, where you should follow the instructions given below.
If you want to log-in via the social media services shown, then click the appropriate button.
You will be redirected to your selected social media server.
Read the log-in information given to you by the social media service provider.
If you accept the terms given, use your social media username and password to log-in.
Upon a successful log-in you will be redirected back to Vend St, where you should follow the instructions given below.
When you are redirected back to Vend St you will see the “Register” form, where you will be asked to set up a Vend St username and an e-mail address.
“E-mail” must be a unique e-mail address, ie an address that is not used by another user on the Vend St web site.
“Username” must be a unique name not used by another user on the Vend St web site. The username will always be visible to other users.
You will then see a message that you have been sent a verification e-mail. The verification e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address that you entered.
Check the e-mail account related to your new e-mail address. You will receive an e-mail from Vend St to confirm that address. In the e-mail you will see a link “Confirm e-mail address”, click that link to go to the verification page at Vend St.
To confirm the e-mail address, click the “Confirm” button.
On clicking the “Confirm” button you will be directed to the “Log-in” page.
At this point you have successfully set up a Vend St account, but you have not logged-in. You now have to complete the following steps (these are the only steps you will need to follow for future log-ins).
Scroll down to the “Other log-in options” heading.
Select your chosen log-in method (OpenID or social media provider).
After a successful log-in (via OpenID or social media provider), you will be logged-in to Vend St and will see your username in the header, or the pull-down menu.
